The latest issue of Edge magazine reportedly reveals that CNN has paired up with Nintendo to bring news updates to the console. Nintendo reportedly wanted to release the Wii at a lower price but pressure from retailers worried about lower margins prevailed. Two other interesting rumors is that Sega has moved alot of its development staff from the PS3 to the wii and there may be a DVD enhanced version of the Wii released in Japan next year.

Nintendo’s Wii will launch across the US this weekend, but the console will be without web browsing capabilities and two of its proposed Channels.
