The Nintendo Wii offers something that no other video game console offers. With the Nintendo Wii, you actually swing the controller to control the action. You swing the controller to swing your racket or golf club or sword. You point the controller to point your gun or crossbow. By swinging the controller to move the action along, you are truly placed right in the middle of the action and you are interacting with the video game environment as if you were actually there. Today there are many people who claim that the Nintendo Wii is a complete failure as it is just an expensive gadget without any meaning. However industry reports show otherwise.
The Nintendo Wii has been able to achieve the position of the top grosser in all the major markets that it has entered into. The console has been able to outsell every other video game model by developers like Microsoft and Sony since its release.
In fact the company claims to have engineered a successful marketing campaign that the industry has never seen before.
Take the example of the holiday season in Japan and USA. Chances of you buying yourself a Nintendo Wii are unlikely as the demand is more than supply. People were waiting in lines for hours to get their hands on the latest Nintendo Wii even after a year of the console being introduced.

Ever since the Nintendo Wii video game console was introduced in the global market it has taken the world by storm. In the beginning Microsoft Xbox 360 managed to sell more units than Nintendo Wii in the month of September, Nintendo Wii soon overtook Microsoft to reach the top spot for the number of units sold.
Nintendo overtook Microsoft in October when 519,000 units of the game console were sold while Microsoft managed to sell only 366,000 units.
However in terms of revenue Microsoft has overtaken Nintendo Wii. Microsoft earned $354 million in revenue from sales of its video game console while Nintendo managed to earn $246 million for its Wii model and $116 million for its PS3 model.
